Knee Arthroscopy

Knee Arthroscopy

This is the keyhole surgery of the knee. I do this surgery for meniscal (cartilage) repair, meniscal trimming, removal of loose body, debridement and micro fractures (for joint surface defects).

This surgery involves putting a camera and instruments through the small portals into your knee to perform the procedure. This is usually done as a day case under general anaesthetic. You’ll normally be allowed to mobilise as your pain allows unless I repair something inside. In case I repair something inside your knee, you may be put in a brace and may be asked to restrict the weight bearing through the operated leg for few weeks.

You may be allowed to go back to work after a week or two if you do a desk job but this may take couple of months if your work involves a heavy manual job.
